Kevin and CC hopped aboard the Yankee Freedom II and headed for Fort Jefferson at The Dry Tortugas National Park 70 miles west of Key West. National Park Ranger, Chris Ziegler, gave KeyWestBuzz.com the VIP tour of one our country’s national treasures. The tour described the conditions of the Fort past and present and explored the lives of the prisoners including its most infamous, Lincoln assasination conspirator, Dr. Samuel Mudd. With breakfast and lunch included, world class snorkeling, and an incredible history lesson in the middle of the ocean, The Tortugas trip on Yankee Freedom II is an essential part of any visit to Key West. Kevin Redding went trolling on the Atlantic and bottom fishing at the Reef with Captain Chris Butler of Paradise Fishing of Key West. The day started with a pod of dolphin (porpoise) following the boat on our way out “The Humps”. At one point there was a fish one every line on the boat. Brian dropped his camera and I put the mic down as we each had to grab a pole. Brian caught and released a barracuda. I snagged a Mahi that Jeff and Jason were nice enough to let me keep (it was delicious). Thanks to Captain Chris, First Mate Jimmy, Brian Nelson the cameraman, Andy Perkins from AP design (www.designwithAP.com) for working on the photos, and Jeff from Atlanta and Jason from Tampa for letting us crash their charter. Call (305) 395-1416 and ask about going out with Captain Chris if you want to catch some fish. Be sure to tell them you heard about them from KeyWestBuzz.com if you want the royal treatment! Please like us on face book (under the weather) and thanks for listening!
